GENERAL INFORMATION
All boys and girls from Kindergarten through 8th grade in the Spring are eligible for participation in the baseball/softball program. The boys play baseball and the girls play softball. T-Ball is Pre-K Four and Five year old children not registered for Kindergarten yet.
Home games are played at Des Peres Park.
Practices are usually held at SGM, Des Peres Park, Pioneer Park, and Sugar Creek Park (location is decided by the Baseball Commissioners).
Depending on field availability and weather conditions, practices usually start in mid to late March.
Regular season games will begin in early to mid April, and usually end no later than the last week in June. Schedules will not be available until late March-early April. Most of our Pet teams normally have a 7-10 game season, depending on their division. Grades 3 through 8 usually have a 10-game season. This is all determined by the CYC.
At the completion of the regular season, 5th through 8th grade teams that qualify may be eligible for city-county playoffs. There are also cyc tournaments throughout the season for all grade levels. Check the cyc website for more information.
There are generally 10 to 17 players per team, depending on the number of children registering for baseball.
Required items: Baseball glove
Recommended items: Plastic cleats, water bottles; bats are optional
SGM Boys Baseball/Girls Softball plays in the CYC Northwest Baseball/Softball District
