Youth Ministry

We are a community of high school (9th-12th grade) and middle school (7th-8th grade) teens, adults, and parents centered on leading teens toward an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to create a community where young people can encounter Christ and be formed as disciples. We strive to be authentic, joyful, loving, and evangelical in practicing our Catholic faith. We empower teens to grow in holiness through Scripture, the Sacraments, prayer, retreats, and weekly ministry opportunities high school students. Any high school teen can join us for any event! High School

• Wednesday Nights- Snacks & Scripture-- on nights opposite of Middle School Ministry

Middle School

• Middle School is starting August 20th with Color Wars & we couldn't be more excited!!

• The following are the dates for Middle School for Fall 2025:

  • 8/20 (Color Wars), 9/3, 9/17, 10/1, 10/15, 10/29, 11/12, 12/3, 12/17

  • We always meet in the youth room from 7-8:30PM! The youth room is located by the playground! I hope to see you all soon!

What is going on in Youth Ministry?

We have been blessed with a full summer of activities at SGM! 

SGM youth ministry attended the annual Steubenville conference at Missouri State on July 11-13th! We brought students to encounter the Lord and the youthful church. Below are some pictures of our group & the fun that was had! 

Some highlights: 

- Adoration on Saturday night! We were able to encounter the Lord in His body, blood, soul, and divinity in the Eucharist! 

- The Block party! There was a live DJ, dancing, and food trucks! It was super fun!

- The speakers! The speakers provided us with tools on how to pray, who Jesus is, and why we can be consumed by Him. 

SGM youth ministry also had Totus Tuus come to the parish! We had a week full of fun activities and 8 wonderful missionaries who are on fire for the Lord! We heard their testimonies and how they have fallen in love with the Lord. AND we played shaving cream wiffle ball! It was a super great week!!

We also had our senior night :( We said bye to 3 fabulous seniors who have shaped our community so much! Please pray for Will, Mady, & Anne as they head off to college and begin their studies!! We will miss them a lot!
