Evening Prayer and Social Gathering

Come join fellow parishioners to pray the evening Liturgy of the Hours prayers on Tuesday, September 13th, at 7:00 in the church. Liturgy of the Hours is the official set of prayers "marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer". It consists primarily of psalms supplemented by hymns, readings and other prayers. Together with the Mass, it constitutes the official public prayer life of the Church. A Plea For Help!

Posted on September 01, 2016 in: General News

We are in need of someone (or a group) to step up to chair this year’s Jubilatio dinner auction. The date is tentatively set for April 1, 2017, but to move forward we need someone to take the reins. Last year’s chairs are happy to help in order to make the transition smooth. Are you looking for a way to give back to the parish? Do you perhaps have experience with a high school auction? Do you like to plan and coordinate? Please prayerfully consider whether this is something you could do, and if you feel called, please contact Fr. Skillman at the parish office.

Are you smarter than a seminarian?

Posted on September 01, 2016 in: General News

For the past four years, Fr. Skillman taught a basic course on the Creed (Part I of the Catechism of the Catholic Church) to our seminarians.  This fall he will be offering a series of thirteen talks here at SGM covering the same material. Don’t worry: there will be no exams to take or papers to write! You can read along in the Catechism if you would like, but even that is optional.  Come either at 9:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday from September 7th through December 14th. Come for all thirteen or just for the one or two topics that interest you.  Hope to see you there!
