Four videos of the Rosary being prayed – one for each set of the mysteries - have been added to the SGM YouTube Channel. The Annual Catholic Appeal pledge period continues this week.  The ACA is essential to many services and ministries in St. Louis and the surrounding ten counties. SGM Pilgrimage Planning - looking ahead
The corona virus has affected our lives in many ways (understatement!), including the cancellation of the pilgrimage to Poland planned for September of this year. That pilgrimage is now planned to take place in 2021, with a ripple effect on the tentative schedule of parish trips to other sacred sites. Our SGM middle schoolers and many other parishioners regularly volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Soulard, and SGM is being honored this year with the Vincentian Spirit Award. The Archdiocese of St. Louis has developed a new system for safe environment compliance called Prevent and Protect STL. Everyone ministering to minors and vulnerable adults (clergy, employees and volunteers) in the Archdiocese are required and asked to register in the new system before December 31, 2020. This includes those new to service and those who are currently in service. Evening Vespers and Speaker – June 17
With the opening of our church for Mass, monthly Evening Vespers on the third Wednesday of each month will begin again, starting at 7:00 pm in the church on Wednesday June 17. Our speaker this month will be Father Skillman, speaking on “Lessons from the Pandemic”. The service and speaker will also be livestreamed from our parish YouTube channel (the same as for Mass). Sanitizing Crew for Weekend Masses (Revised 6/18)
We are looking for 5 person crews to perform sanitizing in the Church nave after the Saturday 5pm Vigil Mass and after the 9:00 am Sunday Mass each Weekend Masses, starting June 27. This revision is a result of the change in the guidelines for sanitizing the public places of worship in our Archdiocese and in St. Louis County.   Sanitizing Crews will meet in Narthex by restrooms  after Mass. ie, after 9:00 am Mass, meet at 10:00 or sooner if Church is empty. St. Vincent de Paul Clothing Drive
St. Vincent de Paul's clothing and household goods collection will be Saturday, June 27, from 3 :00 until 6:00 pm and Sunday, June 28, from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm. The St. Vincent de Paul truck will be located at the east end of SGM's parking lot. Kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware and other small household items), toys, baby furniture and clothing of all types, particularly for children and men are needed. Next weekend, June 13/14, is our regular Give A Meal A Month Collection. This month’s menu is tuna, Tuna Helper, green beans, fruit cocktail and jello. The optional item is liquid dish detergent. If you don’t have time to shop, purchase a TWB gift card for Walmart. They come in $10, $25, $50 and $100 denomination. Give the gift card to the Give A Meal A Month Program and the food pantry will use it to buy what is needed for their community.
