Prevent and Protect STL Clarification
I fear there has been confusion regarding the need to become compliant with the Archdiocese's new Safe Environment program.  It is required that everyone working/volunteering with minors and vulnerable adults register in the new Prevent and Protect system.  The date of December 31st is the end date to get every person in the parish, who volunteers/works with minors/vulnerable adults throughout the year compliant in the new system.  The date of December 31st is significant because it is after this date when all previous background checks wil...

SGM COVID-19 Alert - July 23
July 23, 2020   Dear Saint Gerard Majella Community,   I have been notified that one of our parishioners has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus this week. This individual attended 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, July 19th and received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis on July 22nd.   I have been in contact with the St. Louis County Health Department to ensure we are following all protocols and CDC guidelines. Per the health department, given our current practices of social distancing (separation between households and use of face masks), they do not...

Parish Covid‐19 Update
As we announced last week, in light of the recent county order regarding face masks, masks will now be required at all times inside of church and the adoration chapel. This includes throughout the celebration of Holy Mass, with the only exception being the brief moment of receiving Holy Communion. Holy Communion may be received on the tongue only from one of the priests, and all are reminded to not gather in the narthex after Mass. Thank you for your cooperation.   We received word recently of another parishioner who tested positive for the virus. The parishioner...

Exposition and Benediction - Chaplet of Divine Mercy
Please join us on Sunday, July 26th, for Adoration of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and to pray for His Divine Mercy - for us and on the whole world. Exposition begins at 3:00 pm to commemorate the hour of death of Our Lord – the hour of great mercy and of great grace.   “While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fountain of my mercy” Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska (848).   “I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy.” (Diary, 687).

Outreach - School Supply Drive
It’s back to school time! For the 22nd year in a row, let’s help Guardian Angel Settlement Association provide backpacks and school supplies to some 600 low-income students in Grades K through 12. The Covid19 pandemic job loses have made it particularly difficult for many of Guardian Angels families so your help in our collection this year is more important than ever. Please take a “Back to school supply list” off the door in the Narthex. Purchase what you can and drop your bags in the large containers in the Narthex anytime between Thursday...

Thank You!

Thank You!
The generosity of St. Gerard Majella parishioners was amazingly displayed by the success of the St. Vincent de Paul Clothing Drive over the weekend of June 27/28. In just 8 hours of collection time, the amount of donated items was enough to fill a 26 foot truck – twice!! As a result of your donations, the SGM SVDP conference “earned” an abundance of store vouchers that will be used to assist our neighbors in need during these difficult times. Thank you for patiently saving your donations for several months, then waiting again in long lines of cars to dr...

The return of Pivotal Players to SGM July 18 and 25!
Three years ago, Bishop Robert Barron created a video series on a handful of saints, mystics and scholars who not only shaped the life of the Church, but changed the course of western civilization – the “pivotal players”. SGM parishioners watched and discussed these videos together in 2017, and have continued to do so with the release of new videos in the series.   The next installment of Pivotal Players is now available, and focuses on two incredible figures from the 20th century, Bishop Fulton Sheen and Flann...
