TWB/Finance Committee Update
Given COVID restrictions will likely continue well into 2021, we have decided to formally close the Together We’re Better (TWB) gift card program at year’s end. The TWB program was launched in the Fall of 1997 under the leadership of Father Hauck and Mike Brand.  The program was expanded upon Fr. Bryon’s arrival with John and Margot Hirlinger’s leadership. Over the last twenty three years, the TWB program provided more than $850,000 in supplemental parish income. Special thanks to Laurie Heinzer, who maintained...

Sports Commissioners Needed
We need to fill three sports commissioner roles as soon as possible; one Lacrosse commissioner, and two Baseball Commissioners.  Commissioners receive free sports for their family while they serve as commissioners. We have been very fortunate to have a number of volunteers that have coached and served as commissioners for multiple sports and teams over the years, and it's been an excellent way for men to get more involved in the Parish and meet new people. We have have not had the influx of younger dads that we have had in years past.  Now would be an excellen...

Covid-19 Update
Dear St. Gerard Majella Parish Family,   Over the past month since we contracted Covid-19, Father Huber and I have had many conversations with parishioners about the experience. Reflecting on those conversations, there are a couple points of clarification that we would like to share with you.   First of all, on the day that Father Huber received his positive test result (Nov. 6), I sent an email to all parishioners with this information.  I also noted in this email that a “couple” that attended the 6:30 am Mass on November 4 had tested...

Feast of the Immaculate Conception Masses
Tuesday, December 8th, is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On this day, the Church offers thanks and praise to God for the special favor He gave to our Blessed Mother at the moment of her conception.  Usually this is a Holy Day of Obligation, but given the current Covid-related dispensation, Catholics are not obliged to attend Holy Mass this year.  Nevertheless, we will have our usual holy day schedule of Masses (6:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 7:00 p.m.) for those who would l...

Advent By Candlelight Update
Our speaker for Advent by Candlelight, Sr. Karolyn is in quarantine due to COVID.  Over the course of 2020, we have had to reimagine traditional gatherings and celebrations.  We will not be gathering in person, however, Sr. Karolyn has graciously agreed to stream her talk for the evening on Zoom, so everyone can hear her speak on the virtue of hope during the Season of Advent.  While this certainly is not the same as our typical yearly gathering, it offers us the most essential aspect of the event.  Join your fellow sisters in the parish and connect to t...
