It’s been a couple months since we’ve heard about the Annual Catholic Appeal, but the 2023 campaign has just wrapped up, and given us a glimpse at the success of the appeal, and the role that our parish played in that success. With so many priest reassignments and structural changes to parishes in the Archdiocese, I think everyone was a little uncertain how the campaign would progress, but incredibly, the ACA raised more that $16.7 million to reach out in love to various areas of need within our St. Louis community.
This year, I am very pleased to pass along the results of that campaign within our own parish. Thanks to your generosity, our parish raised $417,112, which surpassed not only our stated goal, but our “challenge goal” by quite a margin! 1,457 parishioners participated this year, which is almost 30% of the pledge cards that went out initially, with 69 of those being new donors. In context, that puts us 7th in the whole Archdiocese in total money raised, made even more impressive that most parishes ahead of us are 2‐3 times larger than we are!
I want to pass along my sincere gratitude and the gratitude of Archbishop Rozanski for your generosity and leadership in the appeal this year. Thanks also to Mick Mullen and Michael Haywood for their leadership of our parish campaign. Many of us are grateful that our parish was not directly affected by All Things New, but that also carries with it a responsibility to step up in leadership and example within our Archdiocese, and you have certainly done that this year. Let’s continue to pray for the agencies, ministries, and apostolates of our Archdiocese who allow us to extend the loving hand of Christ to those in need. Thank you!
