From Fr. Grosch
It’s been a bit since we’ve heard about the Annual Catholic Appeal, but we finally received the results of this year’s appeal at SGM, and I’m happy to report that it was a great success! This year, our parish published goal was $253,565 - this is a number derived from registrations and offertory numbers for our parish. The challenge goal, which is based on last year’s campaign results, was a massive $417,112! Both of those are intimidating numbers, but by the generosity of our parishioners, our campaign pledges and donations added up to $446,777!
One of the other responsibilities I have in the Archdiocese is to sit on the Annual Catholic Appeal Council to provide a certain amount of guidance and oversight from the perspective of a pastor, but as part of that, I also get to see many of the great initiatives going on throughout our Archdiocese in the name of Christ - providing shelter for the homeless, helping to provide Catholic education to children with special needs, supporting the formation of priests, and building a mindset for evangelization, just to name a few. I am proud of our parish’s incredibly generous support of the work of the ACA, and each of your firm convictions to embrace the mission of Jesus in our community. THANK YOU for your support, and may God continue to bless you for your generosity!
