Meals for Homeless Families

Looking for things you can do for others with your families? St. Gerard hosted homeless families for many years in our meeting rooms. After COVID it was decided to let the families stay at the Room at the Inn site. They have reached out with the following letter.

Room at the Inn executive director, Laurie Phillips, believes our Room families would benefit from a greater number of meals provided for them. Room is reaching out to St Gerard to help meet this need, and other former night sites too. Currently nine night sites and two individuals are providing meals.

Providing a meal can be a complete homemade meal with a main dish and side dishes of vegetables or salad with dessert, a purchased meal such as pizza or chicken/fries and fruit or a mixture of purchased and homemade.

Meal Details:

  • The meal should feed 20 people.
  • The meal should be brought already prepared by 5 pm. The meals are set out from 5 pm – 7 pm. This time frame allows families that arrive at different times from work or school to eat.
  • Fresh fruit is appreciated.
  • Room has paper products. No need to worry about providing these.
  • Drinks are appreciated but not necessary.

It’s a great way to help out those who are less fortunate!
