Bridge of Hope Lincoln County was born out of a shared realization that too many individuals and families in Lincoln County are homeless. Moved to action, local Catholics, through the St. Vincent de Paul Society chapter at Sacred Heart in Troy, began assisting those in need, initially provid-ing short-term housing in motels. As the need grew, they partnered with civic, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations to establish Bridge of Hope, a residential center offering a path toward stability and independence.
While primarily designed for individuals, Bridge of Hope uniquely allows families to stay together, ensuring they receive support as a unit. Local churches and volunteers provide meals, fostering a true sense of community. The facility also features a resource day center with internet access, laundry, showers, and case management services to help residents navigate their journey toward self-sufficiency. At its heart, an on-site Chapel offers a quiet space for prayer and reflection.
“We create an environment where individuals have access to the most basic need of food and shelter and walk alongside them with the wraparound care they individually need.” Open just one year, the successful transitioning of the first residents of Bridge of Hope was featured in The St. Louis Review story, “A bridge out of homelessness.” (June 6, 2024)
Bridge of Hope seeks to provide a safe haven and brighter future for all who seek help. It is a model of a community and multiple organizations pulling together talents and resources to care for individuals with compassion and respect.
