Did you know…The OCIA is:
- For Baptized Catholics who have not been Confirmed
- For Baptized Christinas who desire to become Catholic
- For those who have not been baptized
St. Gerard Majella Church offers an opportunity and process for adults to be accepted into the Catholic Church, through the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is an extended period for:
- Listening to Sacred Scripture
- Sharing life stories
- Praying and Reflecting
- Learning about Catholic Teaching and Tradition,
- Observing how Catholics actually live their faith
The OCIA provides a nurturing environment for deepening one's understanding of the Gospel message, for spiritual renewal and for direct contact with members of the parish. It is through prayer, study, reflection, and encounters of grace with parishioners who serve as Catechists and Spon-sors, that the faith and values of the Catholic Church can become more evident.
Our Inquiry Series will begin on Wednesday evening, September 10th. In this phase, we will use the video series, The Search (Produced by the Augustine Institute). We will gather in one of the Parish Meeting Rooms, from 7:00-8:30 pm. If you, a family member or a friend is interested, please register by calling the Parish Office, 314-965-3985 or email Fr. Seper at frseper@sgmparish.org.
