An Amendment to Section C., 3 of the SGM Sports Handbook. Regarding Team Construction and Player Placement will be discussed and voted on at the next Majella Club meeting on May 7, 2026. All parishioners are welcome to attend and vote. The amendment removes the option of a second competitive team at a specific grade level. The proposed amendment and the deleted language is below.

Proposed Amendment
3.Beginning in 5th grade, if there are enough players to warrant the formation of more than one team in that sport at that grade level and enough players that are interested in forming a competitive team, then one team shall be designated as a competitive team and will be determined based upon an evaluation system determined by the commissioner(s) for that sport in consultation with the Sports Council which includes input from the previous year’s coaches/manager and input from neutral evaluators. The remaining recreational teams shall be constructed in the manner outlined in paragraph 2 above.

Deleted Language
If there are enough players to create three or more teams in that sport at that grade level, and enough players interested in forming a competitive team, there will be a competitive composed of the most highly evaluated players and then an additional team composed of the next most highly evaluated players.
