Congratulations to Evie King, recipient of the SGM Respect Life Apostolate Essay Award! In recognition of her outstanding essay, Evie was also presented with a $500 gift from the SGM Respect Life Apostolate, generously provided by an anonymous donor.

In 2026, hundreds of eighth graders from 36 Catholic schools, PSR programs, and homeschool programs participated in the annual Archdiocesan Writing Contest. Members of SGM’s Respect Life Apostolate reviewed 49 essays and selected three Parish/School Finalists to advance to the Archdiocesan level. From 94 Parish/School finalists across the Archdiocese, 24 students were ultimately named Archdiocesan Finalists.
