Dear Saint Gerard Majella Community,
I have been notified that one of our parishioners has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus this week. This individual attended 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, July 19th and received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis on July 22nd.
I have been in contact with the St. Louis County Health Department to ensure we are following all protocols and CDC guidelines. Per the health department, given our current practices of social distancing (separation between households and use of face masks), they do not recommend quarantine or further measures for any other parishioners or staff members. However, if you begin experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please contact the county health department at (314) 615-2660 and follow the guidance the department provides. Questions may also be addressed to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services at (877) 435-8411.
We have been working closely with the Archdiocese of St. Louis and will continue to do so to ensure we are following all directives and guidelines from government and health officials. We continue to clean and disinfect the parish grounds daily.
I will share any additional important updates regarding this situation with all of you. If I can be of any assistance to you or if you have further questions, I will make every effort to help. You may also find updates and resources from the Archdiocese of St. Louis regarding COVID-19 at archstl.org/coronavirus.
Please keep this parishioner, all of our parish families, and the entire community in your prayers as we continue through this challenging time.
Yours in Christ,
Father Skillman
Pastor
