I fear there has been confusion regarding the need to become compliant with the Archdiocese's new Safe Environment program.  It is required that everyone working/volunteering with minors and vulnerable adults register in the new Prevent and Protect system.  The date of December 31st is the end date to get every person in the parish, who volunteers/works with minors/vulnerable adults throughout the year compliant in the new system.  The date of December 31st is significant because it is after this date when all previous background checks will be deleted from the old system, which will require all new background checks to be run at a significant cost to the parish.  So, registering and completing the requirements in Prevent and Protect is mandatory before you begin work with minors/vulnerable adults as we move forward into the new school year/sports season.  This can all be completed online with relative ease.
