"In the Catholic tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue; participation in the political process is a moral obligation. All believers are called to faithful citizenship, to become informed, active, and responsible participants in the political process. ... This dual calling of faith and citizenship is at the heart of what it means to be a Catholic in the United States."
--from USCCB's "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship"
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The deadline to request a ballot by mail is (received by) 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
Missouri has two types of mail voting: Absentee voting, and vote-by-mail. Absentee Voting requires an approved excuse, and you can return your ballot by mail or in person. Missouri voters who have contracted COVID-19, who are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 (those 65 & older), and who are otherwise confined or incapacitated by illness, are eligible to vote by Absentee Ballot in the November election without having their Absentee Ballot being notarized.
You may have recently received the application for an Absentee Ballot in the mail from Gov Parsons. If not, you can download that application from the St Louis County Board of Elections website or call them at 314-615-1800. Again, if you use the Absentee Ballot and you are “incapacitated” or over 65, there is no Notary required.
If you wish to vote in person and need a ride with ‘Safe Space & Masks” call Janet Wittenauer, 314-965-3985, ext. 2815, to make arrangements for a volunteer to take you.
We are happy to assist you in your civic duty, asking God to bless us & our Nation.
