Evening Vespers will be offered on December 16 at 7:00 pm in the church. Following Vespers, our speaker will be Javier Orozco, the Executive Director of Human Dignity and Intercultural Affairs for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Mr. Orozco’s talk is titled “Can We Walk Together?” and will offer reflections on our ecclesial vocation to be a pilgrim faith community in dialogue, service and solidarity.
More information on our speaker, Javier Orozco. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Human Dignity and Intercultural Affairs for the St. Louis Archdiocese, and has a monthly column in the St. Louis Review; if you've read his columns, you know he is an insightful and thoughtful theologian, and I am excited he is coming to speak to us. Here is a link to his column from last month: https://www.archstl.org/faith-and-culture-remembrance-gratitude-and-hope-3356
Javier's topic is Can We Walk Together? He will offer reflections on our vocation to be a pilgrim faith community in dialogue and service, which sounds like a thought-provoking topic to help us prepare for Christmas. But having Javier as the speaker is just the icing on the cake! We're more than halfway through Advent, and Vespers + Benediction, with confession available throughout the evening, is a great way to prepare for the coming of Jesus.
The event will be live-streamed on the SGM You Tube channel, but there is also plenty of room to spread out in the church, and all safety protocols will be in place.
