Did you know that there have been over 150 Eucharistic Miracles throughout the history of the Church? We know that at every Holy Mass the bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Typically, what we call the “accidents” – that is, the appearance of bread and wine – remain and veil the substantial change that occurs. In a Eucharistic Miracle, however, the accidents change along with the substance. The appearance of bread and wine disappear and instead our physical senses perceive flesh and blood. It’s an amazing gift that Our Lord gives from time to time to confirm our faith in this great mystery.
A special exhibit will take place at SGM around the Feast of Christ the King, 9am-7pm Saturday, November 20 and 7am-3pm Sunday, November 21. The exhibit will feature the stories of some of these miracles. This is but a “foretaste” of a full exhibit that will come to our parish for the Feast of Corpus Christi next June. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for the opportunity to deepen our faith in and love for Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
We will be seeking volunteers to help with the exhibit. Signup online to help.
