The Stewardship Committee is inviting parishioners to come together as a community to prepare our hearts this Lent through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Praying
In the Narthex of church, there will be a glass bowl that contains purple cards with the names of all St. Gerard Majella parishioners. Throughout Lent, as part of your prayer practice, we encourage you to take a card or two and pray for that family during Lent. Additionally, you will find blank slips of paper so that you can add your own personal petitions to the bowl. Intercessory prayer is so powerful – imagine every parishioner in the parish being prayed for by name!
Also, be on the lookout for “How to Pray” booklets, and feel free to take one and deepen your prayer life.
Fasting
Each week during Lent, check parish wide communications for the weekly “Fasting Challenge.” Looking for unique fasting ideas? Seeking a community to walk beside you as you challenge yourself and your family? Let’s come together to encourage and support one another in our Lenten journey.
