One Classroom
One Classroom’s mission is to provide inclusive Catholic education for students with disabilities in the same classroom, “shoulder to shoulder”, with their peers. One Classroom celebrates the value and dignity of our children, no matter their ability. They strive to ensure that Catholic education is available to ALL children.
Educators are provided with the necessary training and assistance to educate a student with disabilities within a typical classroom setting. The individualized model may include curriculum modifications, peer students, or a specialized teacher. One Classroom is currently in 27 archdiocesan grade schools and high schools, but they can only help half of the applicants who apply for services. The need is great!
As Catholics, we must provide for the disabled and disadvantaged. Christ himself gave the example of caring for the sick and the less fortunate. Guided by the Holy Spirit, One Classroom has the mission to help those children most in need by supporting Catholic schools so they may welcome children with disabilities.
The Annual Catholic Appeal provides essential funding for One Classroom!
