Have you heard of the Divine Office? Do you know what the Liturgy of the Hours is? (Hint: the Divine Office is not the rectory, and Liturgy of the Hours is not Sunday Mass!). Basically, both are terms for the daily prayers offered by priests worldwide. But, the prayers aren’t just for priests – they are an important part of the Catholic prayer life, available to all of us.
On Monday, June 6, Father Buehler will give a short talk on the Liturgy of the Hours in Room 224 beginning at 7 PM, explaining its history, meaning and methodology. Following the talk, we will pray the evening Liturgy of the Hours in the church, followed by cookies and lemonade in the narthex. Evening Prayers last less than 20 minutes, so this is an easy opportunity to join fellow parishioners in learning, praying and sharing sweets!
