GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Our T-Ball program is for both boys and girls that are in the Preschool and Pre-K programs at St. Gerard Majella. Current Kindergarteners should register for the SGM baseball and softball program. All T-ball players will be assigned to new teams starting in Kindergarten per the current SGM sports program policy.
  • We will be participating with teams from SGM only. Practices and games will be held on Sundays at SGM from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, although this scheduling may be adjusted based on the number of players and teams that participate.
  • The first 2 weeks of the season will consist entirely of practices/drills at SGM. Following these 2 weeks, each hour interval will start with a 10-minute warm-up/practice period with the team’s coaches followed by a 3-inning game. Each team will bat their entire order each inning and fielders will rotate positions each inning.
  • Each team will have 5-7 players. Fielders will play traditional infield positions (except catcher) with 1-2 outfielders, if necessary, based on the number of players participating. One or two coaches will be in the field helping to direct players. Only coaches are permitted in the field with their team (parents and siblings not coaching should be in the designated area for fans).
  • Our season will start in April but will be dependent on weather. We will have 2 Sunday practices and an additional 4 Sunday games. Make-up games will be attempted for rain-outs, but the season will conclude by June 30th regardless of the number of games played. No games will be played on Memorial Day Weekend.

UNIFORMS

Each child will receive a T-Shirt, and a baseball cap. Baseball pants are not required. Each child will receive an end of season award.
